BRANDON, Man. (CIS) – The Dalhousie Tigers fought off a strong push by the McGill Martlets on Saturday to advance to the consolation final of the CIS Women’s Volleyball Championship.

After many intense rallies on both sides, each team took their turn with the lead, but Dalhousie came out as the winners in their third regular season game.

Once again 5 sets were needed to separate the squads but this time the Aigles Bleues managed to squeeze out the win by a score of 23-25, 25-20, 25-21, 24-26, 15-11.

The Tigers beat everyone put in front of them, racking up a 12-2 set record in four games. Acadia faced off against the defending AUS champions in the tournament’s championship game on Sunday afternoon losing by a score of 20-25, 25-21, 23-25, 15-25.
Day 2 of the Dalhousie Women’s Volleyball Invitational started off with a back-and-forth affair between the Saint Mary’s Huskies and the UdeM Aigles Bleues. After dropping their open match to Acadia, the Huskies were able to capture their first win of the weekend beating the Aigles Bleues 16-25, 25-21, 17-25, 25-20, 15-11.
On day 2 of the Dalhousie women’s volleyball invitational at the Dalplex the Tigers took down the Acadia Axewomen 25-18, 25-20, 25-12. Both squads came into Saturday’s match with some confidence after winning each of their first games on Friday night.
In the third 5-set match of the Dalhousie women’s volleyball invitational the Acadia Axewomen edged out the UdeM Aigles Bleues by a score of 25-17, 21-25, 22-25, 26-24, 15- 7. The win will likely put the Axewomen in the championship game tomorrow against the Dalhousie Tigers.
The Dalhousie Tigers remain unbeaten in the Dalhousie Women’s Volleyball Invitational after taking down their city rivals, the Saint Mary’s Huskies by a score of 25-13, 20-25, 25-17 25-19. The two sides have met for the past four years in the AUS championship and delivered another thrilling match on Saturday night at the Dalplex.
The Dalhousie Tigers women’s volleyball invitational got underway at the Dalplex on Friday night with the Saint Mary’s Huskies and Acadia Axewomen opening the tournament off. Acadia came out on top in a thrilling 5 set match after being down 2-0. In the second match of the evening, the Tigers opened up their preseason with a 3-0 victory over the UdeM Aigles Bleues.
In the opening game of the Dalhousie Invitional the Acadia Axewomen downed the Saint Mary’s Huskies in a 5-set thriller on Friday night at the Dalplex. The Axewomen rallied after dropping the first two sets 24-26, 24-26 to take the final three 25-12, 25-21, 15-13.
