SMU improves to 1-1 with 3-2 victory against UdeM

Day 2 of the Dalhousie Women's Volleyball Invitational started off with a back-and-forth affair between the Saint Mary's Huskies and the UdeM Aigles Bleues. After dropping their open match to Acadia, the Huskies were able to capture their first win of the weekend beating the Aigles Bleues 16-25, 25-21, 17-25, 25-20, 15-11.

 

The Huskies' Jaime Rourke was the standout player of the match, recording 8 kills and a game high 15 digs. Christelle Bertin matched Rourke's kill total on the UdeM side with 8 kills as well. Saint Mary's left side, Erica Dowling recorded 9 kills in the game, the most of any player.

 

Not much separated the teams statistically as the Huskies tallied 35 kills and 57 digs compared to the Aigles Bleues 38 kills and 56 digs.

 

The Huskies improve to 1-1 on the weekend and will play Dalhousie tonight at 8pm in the Dalplex. The Aigles Bleues fall to 0-2 and will finish their round robin off at 6pm against Acadia.
