Aigles Bleues beat out Huskies in consolation game

The UdeM Aigles Bleues won their first game of the Dalhousie Women's Volleyball Invitational on Sunday at the Dalplex in the consolation event against the Saint Mary's Huskies. The Huskies took the first meeting between the two sides in a 5-set marathon on Saturday morning. Once again 5 sets were needed to separate the squads but this time the Aigles Bleues managed to squeeze out the win by a score of 23-25, 25-20, 25-21, 24-26, 15-11.

Christelle Bertin led the Aigles Bleues with 12 kills and a game high 24 digs. Acadia's, Maddie Clarke recorded the most kills of any player with 14.

The young Huskies team that has 8 first year eligible players on their roster finished the weekend 1-3, with two of their loses coming from 5 set matches. The Huskies are also the only team that has taken a set off the Dalhousie Tigers thus far. Saint Mary's regular season starts on November 6th when they take on the Tigers at home.

The Aigles Bleues also finished the weekend with a 1-3 record after dropping their opening three games. Moncton's first regular season action comes on October 23 at the AUS-RSEQ Interlock in Montreal.
