(Halifax, NS) In the final game of the AUS-RSEQ Interlock the Dalhousie Tigers took down the UQAM Citadins 3-0 at the Dalplex on Sunday afternoon. The Tigers finish the second interlock event with three straight wins after dropping their opening two contests.

It was Mieke DuMont who led the Tigers offense this time with a game high 13 kills. Josyanne Grenier of the Citadins had a game high 12 digs.

In the first set the Tigers never trailed, taking the set with relative ease 25-19. DuMont was on fire with 7 kills in the frame.

The Tigers were able to hold a five-point cushion throughout the set as UQAM never could get any momentum going. DuMont closed out the set with a big kill putting the Tigers up 1-0.

It was a much more competitive in the second set as the Tigers squeaked out a 26-24 win to go up 2-0 in the game. Cynthia Perpall started to heat up in the frame helping the UQAM attack to 10 second set kills.

The Citadins had set point at 24-23 after winning one of the longest points of the match when Perpall perfectly placed a roll shot in the back corner. The Tigers went on to win the next three points to close out the set.

Dalhousie had no trouble closing out the match, ending the weekend with a 25-12 final set win. The Tigers were firing on all cylinders opening up a 15-3 lead to start the set.

UQAM could not find an answer for the Tigers as their offense seemed to dry up after a quality 2nd set.

The Tigers are done for 2015 and will not be back on the court until January 15th when they host the UNB Varsity Reds.
