The Dalhousie Tigers were able to take care of business in the opening match of a three-game series this weekend by a score of 3-0 (25-11, 25-18, 25-11) at the Memorial Fieldhouse.

Despite the scoreboard, the Sea-Hawks had a few great efforts from a few of their players, including Sea-Hawks player of the match, finishing the match with seven kills on just 16 total attempts. Leading the team in kills was Melissa Hatfield with 11, she had a few big hits that were too hot to handle for the Tigers defence, she was also a catalyst on the defensive end, finishing with an impressive eight digs. Sarah Trowbdridge was extremely active on both ends of the ball, finishing with 3 kills and a team-high 10 digs.

The Dalhousie Tigers were very efficient throughout the game in everything they did, controlling the scoreboard for the duration of the game. Subway Player of the Game Julie Moore was all over the court for the Tigers, leading the team in kills (14) and digs (13), an impressive all-around effort from the Tigers outside hitter. Sarah Dawe also helped lift the Tigers to victory, finishing the game with seven kills and 12 digs on the night. The Tigers were able to play a complete game with minimal errors, and will look to continue that trend the remainder of the week.

Both teams are back in action Saturday night at 7:00pm when they face off for game two of the series.
