The Dalhousie Tigers are pleased to announce the 2024 Women in Leadership Dinner, presented by RBC.
The 14th annual event will take place Thursday, November 28 with special guest speaker, women’s volleyball alumna Michelle Aucoin.
A familiar face around Dalhousie, Michelle has served several roles with the women’s volleyball team over the years.
Michelle earned a Bachelor of Science degree and a Master of Business Administration while playing four seasons with the Tigers women’s volleyball team. A two-time AUS all-star and a four-time Academic All-Canadian, she helped lead the Tigers to two AUS championship titles.
The Bluenoser was an assistant coach with the Tigers for two seasons in the early 2000’s before taking the head coach job at STFX. She returned to the Tigers bench in 2023 to serve as the interim head coach for the 2023-24 season.
For the fourth year, RBC is the presenting partner of the Women in Leadership Dinner and remains committed to several impactful community initiatives such as this event.
“We are excited to partner with Dalhousie for the 2024 Women in Leadership Spotlight Dinner," says Kellie Sauriol, Regional Vice President, Business Financial Services at RBC. "This event celebrates the commitment and discipline that Dal’s student-athletes show year-round, but also provides them with the opportunity to develop key skills that are paramount to good leadership. I am looking forward to another empowering and motivational evening!”
This year’s event will also include a panel discussion with Dalhousie Tigers student athletes.
“We are excited to once again host this important event,” says Cindy Tye, Associate Director Athletics and Recreation and the women’s soccer head coach. “It allows us opportunity to celebrate our student athletes, the leaders they are in the classroom, community and in their sport. It highlights the importance of females in leadership roles and how their impact is felt by others. We are excited to have Michelle join us this year. She is a leader who plays an important role in our community, and we look forward to hearing her message!”
