HALIFAX, NS – The Dalhousie Tigers had a clean 3-0 win over the Moncton Aigles Bleues Friday night on their home court.

The first set began was a back and forth affair that quickly devolved into a runaway lead for the Tigers. The Aigles Bleues briefly stalled the Tigers at 13 points and had a good three-point run but were unable to maintain the momentum. Courtney Baker (Bridgewater, NS) ended the set for the Tigers with an ace, and a more than convincing score of 25-12.

The Tigers had the first point of the second set but the Aigles Bleues answered strong and got a lead of 3-1. Their lead was short lived however as the Tigers tied it up at four points apiece. Initially the set remained competitive with the lead switching hands twice, but again ended with the Tigers controlling the court, finishing with a score of 25-17.

The start of the third set was all Dalhousie who mounted a seven-point lead. Moncton chipped away at the Tigers lead and were able to make it a competitive 12-9. The set remained tightly contested and the Aigles Bleues took the lead at 15-14. The Tigers responded quickly, and came out of the technical timeout like their undefeated selves by mounting a three-point run and continuing to dominate until they took the set 25-21 and the match 3-0.

Julie Moore (Halifax, NS) had an outstanding performance for the Tigers with 11 kills and 10 digs earning Subway Player of the Game honours. Baker finished the night with 32 assists and six aces.

Abigail Palister (Moncton, NB) and Joanie Arsenault (Tracadie-Sheila, NB) were the top scorers for the Aigles Bleues and finished with seven kills apiece.

The Tigers remain undefeated in regular season action and improve to 14-0, while the Aigles Bleues fall to 4-10.

The Tigers host Memorial tomorrow afternoon at 2:30pm, while the Aigles Bleues host Saint Mary's Sunday afternoon at 2:00pm.
