The Dalhousie Women's Volleyball Invitational is in the books after a great weekend of AUS volleyball action. The Tigers beat everyone put in front of them, racking up a 12-2 set record in four games. Acadia faced off against the defending AUS champions in the tournament's championship game on Sunday afternoon losing by a score of 20-25, 25-21, 23-25, 15-25.

With no surprise to anyone Anna Dunn-Suen and Mieke DuMont led the Tigers offence with 13 and 10 kills, respectively. Acadia's Hillary Monette led all players with 30 digs.

Dalhousie wasted no time creating a sizeable lead against the Axewomen in the first set going up 12-5. Acadia was never able to get within striking distance after being down seven points losing the set 25-20.

The Axewomen came out firing in the second set grabbing the first 3 points in a flash. Dunn-Suen countered quickly with three service aces leading the Tigers on a 5-0 run. The two sides would battle back and forth all set with multiple lead changes throughout. DuMont had the standout play of the set, hammering the ball on the left side for one of her three kills in the frame. The Axewomen started to build a lead late in the set and would eventually close it out at 25-21.

In the third set the two sides were virtually tied the whole way. Courtney Baker had a huge block for the Tigers at 23-23 giving her team set point. DuMont closed out the set with an offside hit to an open area in the back of the court.

After two tightly contested sets the Tigers ran away with fourth. Dalhousie took the life out of Acadia, opening the set on an 11-3 run. The Tiger went on two win 25-15.

DuMont's consistent all round play helped her capture tournament MVP honours. The Dalhousie Women's Volleyball Invitational All-star Team was also named after Sunday's championship game and includes:
