In the opening game of the Dalhousie Invitional the Acadia Axewomen downed the Saint Mary's Huskies in a 5-set thriller on Friday night at the Dalplex. The Axewomen rallied after dropping the first two sets 24-26, 24-26 to take the final three 25-12, 25-21, 15-13.

Acadia's, Sarah Ross recorded 16 kills on the evening leading all hitters. Jaime Rourke was the only Huskie with double digit kills notching 12. The Huskies offensive production dipped in the final three sets as they only hit 15 kills as a unit compared to 21 in the first two sets.

Tessa Michaels (SMU) and Carlotta Frasca (ACA) both recorded 13 digs in the outing.

Saint Mary's takes on UdeM at 11am and Dalhousie at 8pm on Saturday while Acadia has Dalhousie at 1pm and UdeM at 6pm.
