Scotiabank Women's Volleyball Invitational

The Tigers closed out the first day of the Scotiabank Women's Volleyball Invitational with a match against the Windsor Lancers.  The Lancers got off to a good start, taking the first set 18-25.  The Tigers came back in the second, dominating the set from the beginning. Tiger Maggie Li had some impressive spikes and key tips that helped the Tigers take the set 25-10.  Dal started the third set with a clear lead, thanks to multiple kills from Marlee Powers and Tara Gowan.  The Lancers battled back, closing the gap but still came up short, losing the set to the Tigers, 25-21.  The fourth looked promising for the Tigers but the game quickly turned neck and neck, with both teams tied at 24.  The Lancers managed to take the set (24-26), forcing a fifth and final set.  In another close game, the Tigers eventually fell to the Lancers (13-15) who won the match 3-2.

The Tigers play Acadia tomorrow at 12:30 pm and Saint Mary's at 7:30 pm.
