MacSween leads Tigers to win over Tommies

The Dalhousie Tigers secured a program record 14th regular seaon win with a 4-3 victory over the St. Thomas Tommies on Saturday.
The first period of the game between Dalhousie and the Tommies saw several missed opportunities before the scoring began. St. Thomas took an early lead at 4:25 with a goal by Katelin Moffatt, assisted by Ekaterina Pelowich. Dalhousie responded at 12:59 when Emmerson Gormley scored, assisted by Leah MacSween and Abby Larkin, tying the game. Shortly after, Dalhousie's Emma Robertson was penalized for interference at 13:13, but the Tommies were unable to capitalize on the power play opportunity. The period ended with the score tied at 1-1, as both goalies, Grace Beer for Dalhousie and Chloe Marshall for St. Thomas, made several key saves.
In the second period, the Tommies gained an early advantage with a goal by Aimee O'Neill at 1:47, assisted by Claire Nimegeers. They extended their lead with a goal from Claire Nimegeers at 5:31. Dalhousie responded during a power play opportunity, but failed to capitalize despite several missed shots. However, Emma Robertson narrowed the deficit with a goal at 10:43, assisted by Ava Boyle and Elaina Pilkington, concluding the period with St. Thomas leading 3-2.
The third period of the game between Dalhousie and the Tommies saw several key events unfold. Dalhousie began with a strong defensive effort as Grace Beer made multiple saves from shots by Tommies players, including Ekaterina Pelowich and Aimee O'Neill. Leah MacSween from Dalhousie incurred a tripping penalty at 3:38, leading to a power play for St. Thomas, but they were unable to capitalize. The overtime period began with the Tommies winning the initial faceoff, followed by a series of missed shots by Nadia Lavoie, Aimee O'Neill, and Laura Brown, all saved by Dalhousie's Grace Beer. Despite these attempts, St. Thomas could not capitalize, and Dalhousie's Leah MacSween scored the game-winning goal at 2:41, marking her first goal of the season. The period ended shortly after, with Dalhousie securing a 4-3 victory over St. Thomas.
