The Memorial Sea-Hawks were able to complete the weekend sweep against the Dalhousie Tigers after Sunday's victory, 79-51.

Following a tough loss to Memorial in the first game of the weekend series, the Dalhousie Tigers once against struggled to create any solid footing to compete against Memorial's home court advantage. In the first frame alone, the Tigers racked up 10 team fouls. For Memorial, it was busy as usual; a smooth transition offense led to an early lead. They shot the ball much better than Dalhousie in the first twenty minutes of gameplay, finishing the first half at 42% from the field and 30% from deep.

The second half was not much better for the Tigers, as they seemed to be unable to stop the bleeding from Memorial's offensive execution. Their shooting woes did not help them either, finishing the game shooting a mere 30% from the field and 20% from deep. With such a struggle on the offensive end of the floor, it left Dalhousie defeated and deflated on the defensive end. The Hawks were confident in themselves right from the tip-off, executing their gameplan and minimizing the impact of key matchups. Alana Short was a top player this weekend, finishing the series with a 23 point game. Rebecca Ekström continues to surpass expectation as a freshman posting another solid game, finishing with 16 points, earning herself player of the game commendations as well.

Lia Kentzler led the Tigers with 13 points and 11 rebounds, while Maia Timmons added 11 points and four rebounds.

The Tigers host Saint Mary's on Wednesday and the Sea-Hawks travel to New Brunswick to face off against UNB in a four-point game weekend series next weekend. All home and away games are available on austv.ca.
