(St. John's, NL) The Sea-Hawks completed the weekend sweep of the Tigers on Sunday afternoon with an 87-58 victory on home court.

Memorial started their second game against the Dalhousie Tigers strong, continuing their successful approach from the first game, finding easy buckets in transition and attacking the basket after great ball movement. Sydney Stewart has been fantastic for the Sea-Hawks, leading the charge in transition, drawing fouls, and converting at the foul line.

The Tigers unfortunately continued their struggles on offense against Memorial's active defense, which enabled them to control most of the first half. They led the Tigers 18-12 after the first.  Sydney Stewart helped the Sea-Hawks push the lead to 20 to end the half, as she poured in 14 points on 6/7 shooting.

The second half was more of the same for both teams; The Sea-Hawks continued getting to the basket for easy layups, and Dalhousie struggled to get into a rhythm on the offensive end.

Stewart led the charge for Memorial, scoring 27 on a scorching 11/14 shooting. Brooklyn Wright had a solid contribution with 14 points and 4 rebounds.  Robertha Charles was the leading scorer from the Tigers with 13 and seven rebounds. Ariel Provo added 11 points of her own and had six rebounds.

Memorial finished the third ahead 66-33, and won the game 87-58.

The Subway Player of the Game went to Sydney Stewart.

The weekend sweep gives the Sea-Hawks and Tigers identical 2-2 records. Memorial welcomes the StFX X-Women to the nest next weekend for another weekend set. Dalhousie heads to Wolfville, NS on Thursday night for a game against the Axewomen. All games will be available on AUStv.ca
