Dalhousie Tigers men’s soccer head coach Alan Jazic is pleased to announce the commitment of Nate Lechelt for the 2025-26 season.
Hailing from Edmonton, Alberta, the midfielder currently plays for BTB Soccer academy, where he helped his team earn national silver and bronze medals, as well as three provincial championships. In 2023, Lechelt played overseas, training with Germany’s Arnstadt SV 09 soccer school academy in Germany and joined FC Carl Zeiss Jena as a practice player.
“I believe this is a place where I can develop as a person and as a player.” says Lechelt. “I’m really excited to see what I can bring to the team and develop with the team to hopefully win the AUS Championship.”
The four-time honour student will be studying science at Dalhousie.
“I’m very happy to be welcoming Nate as our newest Tiger and welcoming him to the family,” says Jazic. “Nate is an extremely hard-working young man who sets high expectations on himself on the field and in the classroom. A tireless worker, Nate covers a lot of ground, competes at a high level, breaks up plays and more importantly, has the composure to start the transition with great passing and decision making. Nate is also very versatile and can play anywhere in the middle of the park or as an up and back explosive wing back. He is going to be a very important player for our program for many years!”
The men’s soccer team ended their 2024-25 season with a 6-4-2 record and open their 2025-26 season in August.
