Tigers add Abu Al-Shamlat for 2025-26
Dalhousie Tigers men’s soccer head coach Alan Jazic is pleased to announce the commitment of Eliia Abu Al-Shamlat for the 2025-26 season.
Dalhousie Tigers men’s soccer head coach Alan Jazic is pleased to announce the commitment of Eliia Abu Al-Shamlat for the 2025-26 season.
Hailing from Odessa, Ukraine, the dynamic midfielder spent his 2023-24 season playing in Denmark's 3rd Division for Holstebro Boldklub. Previously, Abu Al-Shamlat played for Herfølge Boldklub Køge U19 in the NordicBet Liga in the 2022-23 season. His youth career started when he was six playing for the Academy of Football Club Chornomorets up until 2021.
“I’m very excited to have an opportunity to contribute to the team and be in an environment where we share the same values,” says Abu Al-Shamlat. “The previous successes of the team and well-known school attracted my attention.”
Abu Al-Shamlat is studying science at Dalhousie University.
“Eliia is extremely technical, and he’ll bring a lot of skill, intelligence and that calming influence on the ball that our team needs,” says Jazic. “Eliia’s been a part of some very high-quality academies across Europe and we’re looking forward to him bringing that level of professionalism to our team and locker room. He is a very hard working, dedicated young man who will always put the team first. He is going to be a fantastic addition to our team, both as a player and teammate!”
The men’s soccer team ended their 2024-25 season with a 6-4-2 record and are excited for their upcoming season in the fall!
