WOLFVILLE, N.S. — The Dalhousie Tigers men's soccer team cruised to a 4-0 victory over the Acadia Axemen in Atlantic University Sport (AUS) play on Friday in front of 396 fans at Raymond Field.
After a scoreless first half, Dalhousie broke through in the second with goals from Mohamed Wahdan (Daraa, SY), Mohamed Tolba (Stellarton, NS), Luke Berryman (Halifax, NS), and Jared Ndopedro (Campbellton, NB) to secure the win.
Dalhousie's attack was led by Ben Hashimoto (Charlottetown, PE), who fired seven shots on goal. Goalkeeper Sinclair Astridge (Victoria, BC) made four saves to earn the clean sheet, while Kaveh Wornell (Dartmouth, NS) was named Dalhousie's player of the game.
On the Acadia side, goalkeeper Dylan Legere (Upper Tantallon, NS) made 11 saves but couldn't hold off Dalhousie's relentless offence. Max Rogers (Weston, NS) was named Acadia's player of the game.
Dalhousie controlled the game with 24 total shots compared to Acadia's 12.
The Axemen (0-2-2) next host the Memorial Sea-Hawks (2-1-1) on Saturday at home, with kick-off scheduled for 1 p.m. Dalhousie (1-0-3) will host Memorial the next day at home with an early 11:15 a.m. kick-off at Wickwire Field.
