Tigers Draw Aigles Bleus in Season Opener
The Dalhousie Tigers opened the season Saturday evening against the Moncton Aigles Bleus at Wickwire Field, drawing 1-1.

The Dalhousie Tigers opened the season Saturday evening against the Moncton Aigles Bleus at Wickwire Field, drawing 1-1.
In the fourth minute of the game, Soumaila M. Dagnoko beat several Dal defenders off the dribble but didn't get enough power on his shot, with second-year Sinclair Astridge making the stop.
In the 27th minute, Moncton's Jonathan Kisse had a chance on goal, missing right.
It wasn't until the 33rd minute that Dal had a chance on goal. Ben Hashimoto had the first chance, missing wide right. Kyle Routledge took a stab at the net moments later, missing high.
Dagnoko had two chances before the end of the first half, but Astridge stopped both, bringing the first half to a scoreless close.
Moncton opened the scoring in the 62nd minute from a Pascal Sonier header off a corner to take a 1-0 lead over Dal.
Jonathan Kisse dribbled through the Dal defenders but missed the net left. Moments later, fourth-year Mykeo Parker-Christmas got a through ball, got his foot on it and placed it into the bottom left corner to level the game.
In the 86th minute, Moncton's Yoan Robichaud had a chance through on goal, but Astridge made a spectacular save to keep the game even.
Neither team could capitalize late, ending the game in a 1-1 draw. Moncton outshot Dal 10-6.
Mykeo Parker-Christmas was named the player of the game for Dalhousie.
The Tigers travel to Cape Breton next weekend to face the Capers on Saturday at 3:15 pm.
