Dalhousie Tigers men’s soccer head coach Alan Jazic is pleased to announce the commitment of Mohammed Tolba for the 2024-25 season.
A midfielder from Stellarton, Nova Scotia, Tolba plays for Halifax City Soccer Club and is a member of the Halifax Wanderers Football Club’s development program. In his seven games so far this summer with Halifax City’s Premier Men’s AAA team, Tolba has scored five goals. In the 2023 season, he scored 18 goals in 18 regular season games for Halifax City’s U17AAA team. He led the team to a Soccer Nova Scotia provincial title and a third place finish at the Canada Soccer Toyota U17 National Championship.
Named Soccer Nova Scotia’s Youth Performance Player of the Year in 2023, he was also named an all-star at the 2023 Canada Youth Cup.
“I am extremely excited and honours to be able to represent the Tigers,” says Tolba. “It’s a great team of familiar faces, headlined by a fantastic coach and I am excited to compete alongside them.”
A graduate of the International Baccalaureate program at the Northumberland Regional High School, Tolba will be studying medical sciences at Dalhousie.
“I’m beyond excited to be welcoming Mo Tolba to the Tiger family,” says Jazic. “Mo is a high achiever both in the classroom and on the pitch, and that is something we truly value here at Dalhousie. Athletically, Mo is one of the, if not the, most talented players to come out of this region in a very long time. He is technically very strong and is deadly in 1v1 situations where he’s consistently scoring goals or creating chances for his teammates. In addition, Mo has that growth mind set where he’s always looking to challenge himself and improve. We’re truly very excited to welcome Mo to the Tiger family.”
The Tigers open their 2024 season at home on August 31 when they host the Moncton Aigles Bleus.
