(HALIFAX, NS) – The Dalhousie Tigers drew the Mount Allison Mounties 0-0 in an action-packed match on Sunday evening at Wickwire Field in Halifax.

In the first half, the defence for both the Tigers and the Mounties were hard at work making life difficult for the attackers who were unable to find the back of the net.  Much of the first half action was in the midfield, with tough battles creating a back-and-forth match that lasted all game.

In the second half, the intensity did not let up and both teams created more opportunities for shots on goal. In the 54th minute, an attempted shot by Dalhousie's Suliman Elomrani (Halifax, NS) inside the 18-yard box was saved by the Mounties goalkeeper Matthew Kiropoulos (Brandon, MB). Elomrani would end the affair with a game-high 3 shots.

Another chance inside the box from Isaac Geyer (Saskatoon, SK) of Dalhousie gave another close save for Kiroploulos.

A final chance in the 90th minute for Dalhousie came from a throw in by Jacob Moore (Fredericton, NB) to Ben Thompson (Hammonds Plains, NS) which was saved by the Mounties goalie to conclude the game.

A heated affair, both teams ended the game with two yellow cards.

The Tigers keeper, Emmett Workman (Halifax, NS) received the player of the game honours for his clean sheet.

Both teams can be seen back in action next weekend. The Mounties will be hosting STFX X-Men next Friday at 7:15pm whereas the Tigers will be hosting Cape Breton next Saturday at 3:15pm.
