The Tigers managed to get on the board in the first five minutes of the game. Freddy Bekkers (Halifax, NS) fired a shot that StFX goalie Thomas Pieroway (Conception Bay, NF) could not handle giving Zach Shaffelburg (Wolfville, NS) a tap in goal off the rebound.

Bekkers was able to stretch the lead to 3 in the 29th minute off a cross from Mark Hagen that landed perfectly on Bekkers right foot in goal scoring position.

The Tigers took the 3-0 lead into the dressing room at half.

In the second half the X-Men were the dominant team with multiple chances including Dylan Lawrence (Ottawa, ON) ringing a shot off the crossbar. StFX outshot the Tigers 8-1 in the second frame.
