Oxner shuts out Tigers in 0-0 Draw

Halifax, NS - The Dalhousie Tigers and Saint Mary's Huskies battled to a 0-0 draw on Friday night in AUS men's soccer action. The Tigers dominated scoring opportunities and posession but an unbelievable performance by Saint Mary's keeper Christian Oxner kept them goalless.

The Tigers had an abundance of high quality scoring chances in the first half but nothing seemed to fool Oxner. The most dangerous play of the half was when Bezick Evraire was left all alone on a rush but could not beat a sliding Oxner with a chip shot.

Despite being outshot 9-1 in the first half the Huskies were still tied at 0-0 after 45 minutes of play.

The second half had a similar narrative to the first, as the Tigers dominated play but could not solve Oxner. Zach Shaffelburg had the best chance of the game hitting the post halfway through the second half. The two sides would finish in a 0-0 deadlock.

Both squads are at home on Sunday, October 18th as the Tigers (4-2-3) host StFX (3-2-3) and the Huskies (1-4-4) play host to Acadia (4-1-3).
