2020-21 Men's Cross Country Season

2020-21 Men's Cross Country Season

From the Coach - Rich Lehman

A season without competition is a tough pill to swallow, but our men's cross country team was determined to make the best of it. We were able to gradually increase our training volume, intensity, and frequency allowing us to become more fit and faster than ever in preparation for next season.

Greatest Gains - For unwavering commitment to training with a laser focus on making positive gains.

Hudson Grimshaw-Surette

Hudson made it his goal to take advantage of a year without competition to increase the volume and intensity of his training. He was significantly more dialled in in training sessions than he has been in the past and his cross country season ended with a 14:43 5km race that saw him beat a very strong post collegiate group as well as the reigning AUS Cross Country champion.

Tiger of the Year - For unwavering commitment to training and devotion to the growth of the team.

Nick Robertson

In just his second year with the program, this athlete was asked to assume a leadership role this year following the graduation of our three most senior athletes. He did a phenomenal job keeping the team motivated and on the same page.  He helped keep everyone accountable and focussed on our goals for the 2021 cross country season and beyond all while increasing his own commitment level. He also ran personal bests in every distance this year.
