Cross Country Tigers have good showing at U SPORTS championships

The Tigers cross country teams had a great showing at the 2019 U SPORTS Cross Country Championships hosted by Queen's University in Kingston, Ontario Saturday afternoon.

Catherine Thompson was the first Tigers runner to cross the line in the women's 8km race. She placed 51st in a time of 30:23 and was the second AUS runner to cross the line. Emily Hamilton was only seconds behind to be the third AUS runner to cross the finish line in 53rd place. They were followed by Jessica Needham (73), Lauren Lowther (97), Renata Kingston (101), Emma Moore (102) and Kamylle Frenette (107) to give the women a 14th place team finish.

Hudson Grimshaw-Surette led the way in the men's race, placing in 68th place. He was the third AUS runner to to finish the race, clocking in with a time of 32:59.1 in the 10km race. Jonathan Goodridge was less than a second behind him to earn a 70th place finish. Nick Robertson (71), Will Cox (75), Jacob Halloran (83), Callum Drever (90) and Michael Rogers (105) helped the Tigers to a 13th place overall team finish.
