Tigers add Simons for 2025-26
Dalhousie Tigers women’s soccer head coach Cindy Tye is pleased to announce the commitment of Julia Simons for the 2025-26 season.
Hailing from Calgary, Alberta, Simons played for the Alberta Soccer Association High Performance program in League1 Alberta this past summer and is a part of the Wild Academy Winter program for the 2025 winter season. The 5’6 goalkeeper played for the Cavalry FC Women's ID program in 2023 and was a member of the Whitecaps REX Academy from 2021-23.
A first-generation Tiger, Simons is creating her own path here at Dalhousie. “I am so proud to call myself a Tiger,” says Simons. “I believe that being part of a team that promotes growth and encourages passion will not only enhance my skills on the field but also contribute to my overall success.”
A 2023-24 honour roll student, Simons will be studying arts at Dalhousie.
“We look forward to welcoming Julia to the Tigers”, says head coach Cindy Tye. “A great shot stopper, Julia is positionally sound and can anticipate what is happening next to help direct her backline”.
The Tigers finished their 2024-2025 season with a 5-4-3 record and are excited to start again this upcoming fall.
