Tigers add Portiss for 2025-26
Dalhousie Tigers women’s soccer head coach Cindy Tye is pleased to announce the commitment of Mikayla Portiss for the 2025-26 season.
Hailing from Sarnia, Ontario, Portiss is a member of the London Alliance Football Club who represented Ontario at the 2024 National Championships, finishing fifth. The 5’7 striker and her teammates were the Ontario Cup Champions as well as the Top-Rated Tournament champions in 2024. Portiss has also received Athlete of the Year awards for the past three consecutive years as well as the Athletic Letter award from Northern Collegiate Institute & Vocational School in 2024.
“I am very excited to join the Tiger family,” says Portiss. “I fell in love with the province when visiting, and after connecting with Coach Cindy, I realised that was the environment of school and team I wanted to be apart of.”
A three-time gold honor’s award student, Portiss will be studying science at Dalhousie.
“We look forward to welcoming Mikayla to the Tigers”, says head coach Cindy Tye. “An attacker, Mikayla can use her pace to get in behind back lines and is a big part of the scoring output for her team.”
The Tigers wrapped up their 2024 season with a 5-4-3 record and are eagerly looking forward to the start of the upcoming fall season.
