Tigers add Lancaster for 2025-26
Dalhousie Tigers women’s soccer head coach Cindy Tye is pleased to announce the commitment of Selena Lancaster for the 2025-26 season.
Hailing from Vaughan, Ontario, Lancaster has played for the Vaughan Soccer Club since 2011. The midfielder/center back played for the Ontario provincial team in 2024 as well as the Dominica’s Women’s National Team from 2023-2025. Lancaster made U17 Girls First Team for FTF Spring Showdown and has been awarded multiple players of the match awards, most recently from the FC Durham Showcase in 2024.
“Having the opportunity to visit Halifax for the first time gave me a feeling that I belong at this school and with this team,” says Lancaster. “I am very grateful that I get to call Halifax and Dalhousie my home for the next four years!”
An honour roll student, Lancaster will be studying biology at Dalhousie University.
“A great passer with a keen sense for the game, Selena is able to lead attacks and keep her team in possession under pressure”, says head coach Cindy Tye. “A strong student, we are excited to welcome Selena to the Tigers!”
The women’s soccer team ended their 2024-25 season with a 5-4-3 record and are excited for their upcoming season in the fall!
