The Dalhousie Tigers defeated the Mount Allison Mounties on home turf 5-0 Saturday afternoon. This is Dal's fourth win, tying UPEI for third in the league.
The Tigers dominated the game, outshooting the Mounties 17 shots to nil. Dalhousie took the lead early in the game with Alyssa Hartlen (Waverley, NS) socring in the 18th minute. Meagan McKenna (Halifax, NS) snuck in two more goals before halftime, making it 3-0 Tigers.
First-year striker Haley Birrell (Hammonds Plains, NS), scored her second goal of the season in the second half while Brenna Kettlewell (Quispamsis, NB) scored her first of the year to lock in the win for the Tigers in the 82nd minute.
MtA will play their next game at the Université de Moncton on Sunday, October 1st at 1:00PM while the Tigers head to UPEI October 15.
