Varga commits for the 2024/25 season!

Dalhousie Tigers women’s hockey head coach Keifer House is pleased to announce the commitment of Daisy Varga for the 2024-25 season. 

Hailing from Burlington, Ontario, Varga plays for the Brampton Canadettes team in the Ontario Women’s Hockey Association U22 Elite League. A forward, Varga has scored 5 goals and has 17 points in 38 regular season games this year. Previously she played for the Burlington Barracudas U18 AA team. 

A member of Aldershot High School’s honour roll, Varga participates in their I-STEM Program and has earned her CanFit Pro certification as a part of their Special High Skills Major in Health and Wellness. The 2019-20 Aldershot High School Athlete of the Year, Varga will be studying kinesiology at Dalhousie.  

“I could not be more exited and honoured to be a Tiger,” says Varga. “I can’t wait to get started with this next chapter of my life. I’m looking forward to meeting my teammates and getting to work representing Dal on and off the ice.”  

“We are excited to have Daisy joining our program,” says House. Daisy brings elite level athleticism and competitiveness to our program. We look forward to seeing her impact our program in the years to come.”  

The Tigers finished the 2023-24 regular season with a 13-14-1 record before losing to the SMU Huskies in the quarterfinals.
