The Dalhousie Tigers outlasted the UPEI Panthers Friday night, winning in overtime, 4-3 and tying the quarter-final series a one a piece.

Tigers Captain, Isabella Weist (Torbay, NL) kicked things off during the first period by rebounding a shot from Gabrielle Noordjik (Oakville ON). After a call on Noordjik for body contact three minutes later, Rachel Richards (New Dominion, PE) snuck one inside Dalhousie goal post, on the powerplay to even things up for the Panthers. Despite the aggressive remainder of the period, goaltenders Grace Beer (Oakville, ON) and Sarah Forsythe (Riverview NB) shut down all the attacks. Dalhousie totaled 8 shots on goal while UPEI followed at 7 for the first period.

Kaiya Miracle (Toronto, ON) opened the scoring ten minutes into an aggressive second period when she outskated Alix Yallowega (Winnipeg, MB) and snuck one in to secure a lead for UPEI. The Tigers responded less than a minute later when Raegan Duffy (Burlington, ON) riffled off a beautiful shot into the left-hand corner of the Tigers goal, tying the game back up.

The Panthers came back four minutes later when Ashley McCutcheon (Kitchener, ON) sniped one off a pass from Stephanie Leger (Memramcook, NB) to bring UPEI back on top.

Three minutes later, the Tigers answered. Abby Wombolt (Hammonds Plains, NS) answered with a sneaky powerplay goal rebounded off a shot from Yallowenga and again, evening the score. Though the Panthers lead 16-10 shots on goal for the second period, both teams were on fire.

The remainder of the game saw no scoring, which forced overtime. The first overtime period didn't see much action and the teams headed to the dressing rooms still tied.

During the second overtime period, Olivia Eustace (Riverview, NB) finally popped one in at the end of the period to give the Tigers the win.

Eustace and McCutcheon were named the Subway Players of the Game.

Next up, both teams will faceoff on Sunday in UPEI at 1pm to determine who moves on to the AUS semifinals.
