Six different scorers in Tigers win

(SACKVILLE, NB) Mount Allison played host to Dalhousie in AUS Women's Hockey action in what was the Mounties' Pink the Rink game in support of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. The Tigers would come away with a 6-2 win.

Early on it was the Mounties who got on the board with a quick first period goal when rookie Hailey Simoneau (Milton, ON) scored after a heavy forecheck down low.

Not to be deterred, the Tigers would answer less then a minute later with a goal from Isabella Weist (Torbay, NL) after a rebound fell to her teammate Natasha Falk (Brandon, MB) who managed to pass it to Weist as she was falling to the ground.

Dalhousie would pull ahead as time expired in the first period with a great team effort that was capitalized on by Olivia Eustace (Riverview, NB) on a two-man powerplay. Eustace controlled the rebound with her right foot and went skate to stick to put the visiting team up 2-1.

The Tigers would begin to pull away in the second period with yet another powerplay goal, courtesy of a deft tip by Emma Bishop (Bedford, NS). Dalhousie would go two for four with the man advantage.

Subway Player of the Game Natasha Falk (Brandon, MB) would pounce on a rebound and make it 4-1 Tigers at the 12:11 mark of the second period. Falk finished the game with one goal, two assists to go along with a plus/minus of three.

Dalhousie would add one more marker before the end of the second with yet another shot from the point well handled for a rebound this time off the stick of Kennedy Whelan (Alliston, ON). Defensemen Emma Penner (Niagara on the Lake, ON) once again with the primary assist for her second of the evening.

Mount Allison started the third period much like the first with a quick goal courtesy of Jenna Miller (Sudbury, ON) with her first of the year. Some great stick work as she dipped the shot from the point.

The game's final goal would come off a two-on-one orchestrated by Natasha Falk (Brandon, MB) who was able to find Lexie Small (Grand Falls, NL) to seal the win for the Tigers.

Mount Allison (0-7-0-0) will look to right the ship as they play host to St. Thomas on October 30, puck drop at 7 p.m.

Dalhousie (5-2-1-0) for their part will have some days rest before they travel to play the Tommies on November 5 for a 7 p.m. game.
