Halifax - The Dalhousie women's hockey team beat the Universite de Moncton 3-2 on October 21, at the Halifax Forum.

Dalhousie came out aggressive to start the game in the period and managed to put pressure on Moncton goaltender Annick Boudreau, who made a handful of key saves to keep the game tied. Moncton made a push of their own during a power-play near the end of the period, but the game remained scoreless after the first.

Midway through the second period, Moncton was charged with their second penalty of the game and Dalhousie was able to capitalize with a power-play goal to break the tie. The goal was scored by second year forward, Olivia Eustace (Riverview, NB), and assisted by second year defender, Katie Cameron (Riverview, NB). The Aigles Bleues didn't have to wait long though, as Marie-Eve Re scored off a rebound to tie the game up at one goal apiece.

The third period got off to a hot start as Dalhousie second year forward, Emma Bishop (Bedford, NS) scored three minutes into the period off an assist by second year forward, Emma Penner (Niagara on the Lake, ON). Moncton kept their focus and was able to tie the game once again as Alexia DesForges (Clarence-Rockland, ON) scored on a backhanded breakaway goal assisted by Isadora Quirion (Saint-Gédéon de Beauce, QC).

Moncton made a strong push as the clock ticked down but Dalhousie first year goaltender, Grace Beer (Oakville, ON) held strong.

With a minute and a half left to play in the game, Dalhousie's Eustace netted her second goal of the game from an assist by fourth year forward Brooklyn Paisley (Shawinigan Lake, BC), to give the Tigers the lead and ultimately the win.

For her efforts, Eustace was awarded the Subway Player of the Game.

Dalhousie moves to 3-2 with a win, good for 3rd place in the AUS, while Moncton falls to 1-4, after earning their first win of the season last week against the Tigers.

Moncton will have to regain their focus quickly as they head to Antigonish to take on StFX tomorrow at 7:00 p.m. The Tigers will look to extend their win streak to three as they play host to the UPEI Panthers tomorrow at 7:00 p.m. at home.
