Aigles Bleues top Tigers 7-3

It has been a long time since the Université de Moncton Aigles Bleues scored seven goals in a game. The exploit came at the right time as they upended Dalhousie University Tigers on Saturday evening at the J.-Louis-Lévesque Arena in an Atlantic University Sport women's hockey game. 

The win lifted the Aigles Bleues in sixth spot, the last qualifying for the playoffs with two games left to play. Subway player of the game, Maëlle Riouxled the offensive push with two goals and an assist. Sarah-Ève Mailhot added two counters and Catherine Longchamp, on the power play, Samantha McLaughlin, empty net and Katherine Dubuc, completed the scoring. Dubuc had two assists. 

Kaela Thomson (Norwalk, CT), ithe first period, Isabella Weist (Torbay, NL)at the end of the second and Taylor Joyce (Halifax, NS), on the power play in the third, replied for the visitors. Dalhousie led 1-after 20 minutes and Moncton exploded with four goals in the second to take the lead 4-2. Audrey Berthiaume made 2saves for the winFabiana Petricca (Woodbridge, ON) and Kaelyn Budden (Halifax, NS) shared net-minding duties for the Tigers. Moncton was for on the power play and Dalhousie, 1 for 5. 

The Aigles Bleues complete their regular season this weekend with two home games. They meet the UNB Reds Friday at 7p.m. and the Mount Allison University Mounties, Sunday at 3p.m. Dalhousie meets the Reds in Fredericton Sunday with three games left to play.
