Moncton – Université de Moncton Aigles Bleues (3-3-2=8pts, 4th position) scored twice at the end of the third period to break a 2-2 deadlock and register a 4-2 win over the Dalhousie University Tigers (1-6-1=3pts, 7th positon) in an Atlantic University Sport women's hockey game on Sunday afternoon at the J.-Louis-Lévesque Arena.
Brittany Poitras (Karine Roy, Katryne Villeneuve), at 15:51 on the power play and Subway player of the game, Cassandra Labrie (unassisted) at 19:10 in an open net, got the goals that allowed the Aigles Bleues to register an important win after three losses. Katherine Dubuc (Villeneuve), in the second and Janelle Graham (unassisted), in the first, were the other marksmen for the blue and gold.
Ashley Money, in the first and Lisa Maclean, on the power play in the second, got the visitors goals. Gabrielle Forget was solid in goal for Moncton with many key saves on the 28 shots. Mati Barrett was kept busy with 37 shots at the other end of the ice. Moncton was 1 for 9 on the power play and Dalhousie, 1 for 6.
The Aigles Bleues visit the Mount Allison University Mounties, Wednesday evening at 7 pm while the Tigers host Mount Allison Saturday, November 12 at 6:30pm.
