Dalhousie Tigers track and field head coach Rich Lehman is excited to announce the commitment of Olivia Martin for the 2025-26 season.
Hailing from Whitby, Ontario, Martin is a member of the Durham Dragons Athletics Club. She is also a member of Anderson C.V.I track & field and cross country teams. A mainstay at the Ontario Federation of School Athletics Association (OFSAA) meet, Martin won a silver medal at the Lake Ontario Secondary School Athletics (LOSSA) meet in 2023 before finishing in 10th place at OFSAA in the 400m. Martin holds personal bests of 25.4 seconds in the 200m, 59.8 seconds in the 400m, and 2:22 seconds in the 800m.
“Dalhousie had the academic program I was looking for and is a well-established force in track and field in the AUS conference,” says Martin. “During my visit, I really enjoyed the atmosphere of the campus and the city of Halifax. I’m looking forward to my time at Dal as a future Tiger!”
The honour roll student will be studying marine biology at Dalhousie University.
“We are very excited to welcome Livi Martin to the Dalhousie track and field team,” says Speed/Power Lead Tim Brennan. “Livi has exceptional range from the 200m - 1500m. She will have an immediate impact on our long sprints program and will contribute to nationally competitive relay teams.”
The track and field team looks to defend their AUS title at the end of February in Saint John.
