Tigers add Hagen for 2025-26
Dalhousie Tigers track and field head coach Rich Lehman is excited to announce the commitment of Elise Hagen for the 2025-26 season.
Hailing from Cochrane, Alberta, Hagen has been a member of the Calgary Warriors Track Club since 2022. In her first year with the Warriors, she won several provincial medals and placed fourth in Canada for the U18 300m. In 2024, she placed top 10 in Canada for the U20 400m at the Bell Canadian Olympic Trials and made it to the finals in U18 nationals later that year. Hagen has also been a member of the Cochrane Cobras school track team since 2022 where she helped win a total of 7 banners, 2 of which were provincial championships.
A Calgary Warriors club record holder in the 100m and 400m, Hagen won U18 Female Athlete of the Year in 2023. Hagen also comes with personal bests of 7.76 seconds in the 60m, 25.33 seconds in the 200m, and 57.54 seconds in the 400m.
“I can’t explain the excitement I have to be a part of such a vibrant and hardworking team,” says Hagen. “I look forward to growing myself both academically and athletically as I step into this next season of my life, and I thank Dalhousie for fostering a community where I know I will be supported.”
An honour roll student, Hagen will be studying marine biology at Dalhousie University.
“Elise will have an immediate impact on our women’s sprints program and contribute to nationally competitive relay teams,” says speed and power coach Tim Brennan. “She has impressive range from the 60m to the 400m and is one of the top sprinters to come out of Alberta this year. We are very excited to welcome Elise Hagen to the Dalhousie track & field team!”
