Tigers add Dempsey for 2025-26
Dalhousie Tigers track and field head coach Rich Lehman is pleased to announce the commitment of Miles Dempsey for the 2025-26 season.
Hailing from Creemore, Ontario, Dempsey is a member of the Collingwood Collegiate Institute track and field team. The 5’11 mid-distance runner holds a personal best of 51.91 seconds in the 400m and 57.34 seconds in the 400m hurdles. Dempsey also competed at the Ontario Federation of Schools Athletic Association in 2023 and 2024 where he placed 6th and 11th in the 400m hurdles and 15th and 16th in the 4x400 with his team. Dempsey received Senior Male Athlete of the Year in 2024 and Track and Field Team MVP in 2023 and 2024.
A multi-sport athlete, Dempsey played many team sports at Collingwood Collegiate, earning several team MVP nods.
"I am very honoured to have the opportunity to be running and studying at Dalhousie,” says Dempsey. “During my visit, I felt welcomed and never out of place. I’m very excited to meet new people, learn new things, improve my running, and represent Dalhousie.”
The four-time honours with distinction student will be studying engineering at Dalhousie University.
“We are excited to welcome Miles to the Dalhousie track and field team,” says Speed/Power Lead Tim Brennan. “Miles is a versatile athlete who will add to the depth of long sprinters and contribute to nationally competitive relay teams. He competes in events from the 200m to the 800m.”
The Tigers successfully defended their AUS titles in Saint John, New Brunswick last month.
