Tigers add Babalola for 2025-26
Dalhousie Tigers track and field head coach Rich Lehman is pleased to announce the commitment of David Babalola for the 2025-26 season.
Hailing from Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, Babalola has been a member of the Dartmouth High track and field team since 2021. A versatile athlete, he competes in sprints as well as triple jump and long jump. The 2023-24 Dartmouth High School Sportsman of the Year, Babalola was also named the track and field team MVP that year. Previously he was named the track and field athletic achievement award winner in 2022.
"I am excited and motivated about joining Dalhousie University,” says Babalola. “I am very grateful to be part of this amazing group of athletes and I’m looking forward to all the memories and athletic achievements to be made!”
He will be joining his brother Praise, who is also on the track and field team, at Dalhousie in the fall. A principal’s list student, David will be studying applied computer science at Dalhousie.
“We are very excited to welcome David to the track and field program,” says Speed/Power Lead Tim Brennan. “David comes from a multi-sport background and will have an immediate impact on our jumps and sprints groups with his raw athleticism.”
The Tigers successfully defended their AUS track and field titles in Saint John, New Brunswick last month.
