Tigers claim two U SPORTS medals
Jacob Benoit and Chelsea MacIsaac both earned U SPORTS medals on day 2 of the championships.
The Tigers brought home two medals on day two of the 2025 Biosteel U SPORTS Track and Field Championships hosted by the University of Windsor.
The day opened with field events and Caleb Hominick in the men's weight throw. Hominick recorded a huge personal best, with a throw of 17.67m and secured a fourth place finish.
Abbi Gaudry competed in two events on day two, first in the 60mH she crossed the line in a time of 8.87 seconds to finish 12th overall. Then she recorded a best jump of 5.37m in the long jump to finish 13th overall.
In the men's high jump Blake Marchand cleared the bar at 1.98m to finish 11th overall.
Cara MacDonald crossed the line in a time of 2:52.72 in the 1000m to finish in ninth place. In the men's race, Aidan Goslett crossed the line in a time of 2:25.55 to finish in fifth place.
The first medal of the night came in the men's 3000m. Jacob Benoit crossed the line in a time of 8:17.48 to claim the bronze medal.
A few minutes later Chelsea MacIsaac claimed the second medal of the night for the Tigers in the women's shot put. Her best throw of 13.71m claimed a silver medal for MacIsaac.
The final events of the night for the Tigers were the women's and men's 4x800m relays. The women's team of Zoe Fullarton, Molly Pert, Aidan MacDonald and Cara MacDonald crossed the line in a time of 9:00.49 to finish in sixth place.
The men's team of Lukas Rudaitis, Alex Rogers, Zach James, and Aidan Goslett crossed the line in a time of 7:45.06 to finish in ninth place.
The Tigers return to the track on Saturday with men's shot put at 12:30pm ET.
