Tigers defend their AUS titles
This is the 35th consecutive title for the women and the 22nd title in the past 23 seasons.
The Dalhousie Tigers defended their AUS Track and Field titles in Saint John, New Brunswick this weekend. This is the 35th consecutive title for the women and the 22nd title in the past 23 seasons.
Abbi Gaudry was named the female athlete of the meet. She added to her two gold medals from day 1 with a gold medal in the long jump on day two.
Caleb Hominick was named the AUS male rookie of the year. On day two of the meet, he won a silver medal in the men's weight throw.
Chelsea MacIsaac was named the AUS female field athlete of the year. After setting another Tigers record in the shot put on Friday, she set a new AUS record in the weight throw on day two.
Two Tigers coaches earned awards this season. Head coach Rich Lehman won the female team coach of the year and throws coach Kirk Jessome was named one of the volunteer coaches of the year.
Cara Macdonald won her second gold medal in two days, corssing first in the 600m. Dan Lord set a new AUS record in the men's 600m with a time of 1:19.93. Aidan Goslett also claimed his second gold medal in two days, this time in the 1500m event.
It was a DAL sweep of the men's high jump with Blake Marchand clearing 2.02m followed by Derrick Ejeckam at 1.85m and Ethan Dahr at 1.80m.
