Tigers defend track & field championship titles
At the end of two days of competition, the men's and women's track and field teams won both banners at the 2022 Subway AUS Track & Field Championships.
At the end of two days of competition, the men's and women's track and field teams won both banners at the 2022 Subway AUS Track & Field Championships. The women won their 32nd-consecutive AUS championship title, while it was the seventh title in a row for the men.
Maya Reynolds defended her 60m win from the 2019-20 championships on day two, breaking her own record of 7.56 clocking in with a time of 7.52 seconds.
Lorena Heubach won her second gold medal of the meet, this time in the long jump while Temi Toba Oluboka recorded the longest distance in the weight throw to win the event for the third-consecutive year. Heubach was named the female championship MVP for her efforts and Andrew Conrad was named the 2022 AUS Female Volunteer Coach of the Year.
Oluwatobi Oshikoya leapt to victory in both the high and long jump events, while Zach James was first to cross the line in the men's 600m.
