Grimshaw-surette gets U SPORTS auto-qualifying time at weekend meets.

(Halfiax, N.S.) - The Tigers track and field teams had a busy weekend, competing in three different meets from the Canada Games Centre to the Truro Cougar Dome. 

The Tigers relay teams started off the weekend at the AUS Relays meet on Saturday night and earned some fantastic results. On the men's side, the Tigers claimed first in the 4x200m, 4x400m and 4x800m events, while the women's 4x800m relay team ran a 9:12.37 to win the race and earn a U SPORTS third-place ranking. 

On Sunday, Callum Drever and Savanna Jordan both claimed first-place in the 1500m races at the SMU Open at the Canada Games Centre. Trent Lynds led a podium sweep of the 3000m race, with Blair Miller and Jacob Halloran finishing in second and third, respectively. In the 1000m race, Sophie Watts claimed ran to a fist-place finish as did Hudson Grimshaw-Surette in the men's race, who punched his ticket to the national championships after posting an auto-qualifying time of 2:25.52. 

The throws teams also competed on Sunday at the Truro Lions/ANS Throws Meet at the Cougar Dome. Temi Toba-Olukoba took first-place in both the shot put and weight throw events and Andre Henricks seized first-place in the shot put.
