Tigers win AUS Invitational
Logan Sparkes led the men's team scoring 71 points this weekend.
The AUS Invitational wrapped up Sunday with the final session in the morning at Dalplex.
Emma Carrier Clarke of DAL won her third individual race of the weekend in the 400m free. Fellow Tigers Alexia Morgans and Meredith Coolen touched in second and third.
It was also a Tigers sweep in the men's 400m free with Hasan Hosny out-touching teammate Morgan Sparkes by eight hundredths of a second. Noah Thomas touched third.
UNB's Leah Smal won the 50m backstroke with a time of 30.36 seconds. Acadia's Grace Earle touched in third followed by DAL's Olivia Howe.
The third DAL sweep of the day came in the men's 50m backstroke. Rohin Mountstevens touched first followed by Jevon Gaudett and Cole Mitchell.
Dalhousie's Kate Tuck won the 200m breaststroke followed by fellow Tigers Ava Mackenzie and Memorials Lindsey Goodland.
Connor Maloney of Dalhousie won the men's event followed by Liam Tweedie and Thomas Best, both from Memorial.
Carrier Clarke won her second event of the day in the 100m free with a time of 57.17 seconds. Sara Bennett and Emma Cyr, both of Acadia, finished second and third respectively.
A close men's 100m free was won by Memorial's Chris Weeks, out-touching Dalhousie's Logan Sparkes. Nolan finished third.
Emilie Schofield won the 200m backstroke. Fellow Tiger Adelaide Young touched second followed by Acadia's Eadaoin McGrath.
Dalhousie's Mitchell won the men's 200m backstroke with Logan Sparkes finishing second. UNB Maxime Kenny finished third.
Acadia's Chloe Popp won the 50m breaststroke. Dalhousie's Isla Campbell and Ava Mackenzie touched second and third respectively.
UNB's Blake Kingston won the men's 50m breaststroke. Memorial's Jake LeCoure finished second and Timothy McCowan finished third.
Tiger Amari DeLima-Baril won the women's 100m butterfly and fellow Tiger Mia Stein-Blumberg touched third. Acadia's Sophie Rooney was second.
Acadia's Nate Thompson won the men's 50m butterfly. Isaac Bahler and Will Myrer finished second and third.
It was a Dal sweep of the 400m IM with Schofield, Tuck and Alexia Morgans going 1-2-3. McCowan won the men's race followed by UNB Kenny and Acadia's Alexander Hussey.
In the women's 400m medley relay, the Dalhousie team of Schofield, Tuck, Stein-Blumberg and Carrier Clarke swap a fast 4:15.90 to win. Acadia's Rooney, Popp, Bennet and Emma Hamlyn finished second. Third was claimed by Memorials' Ali Warren, Goodland, Heidi Perry, and Marcy Whelan.
In the men's relay, the Dalhousie team of Mitchell, Maloney, Myrer, and Sparkes won, followed by the Memorial team of Liam MacArthur, LeCoure, Best, and Chris Weeks finished second. The Acadia team of Oliver Dawood, Nate Thompson, Carroll Aidan and David Harvie finished third.
This is the last meet before UNB hosts the AUS championship Feb. 21-23 in Saint John, New Brunswick.
