Fifth-year swimmer Noah Mascoll-Gomes is the 2023-24 U SPORTS Swimming Men’s Community Service Award winner.

A management student, Noah launched an initiative in September of 2023 to provide swimming lessons to local elementary school children of colour. Traditionally children of colour are underrepresented in the sport of swimming and this initiative aims to empower children through teaching a valuable life skill, develop a passion for a new sport and to encourage them to stay active.

He initially collaborated with two local schools, but with the help of the Dalhousie swim team, the program has expanded to over 40 children with sessions running twice a week.
