WOLFVILLE, N.S. – At the annual Jack Scholz Memorial Swim Meet, the Dalhousie Tigers are first in the women's, men's, and team standings after the first of two sessions. 

Sitting second in all three standings are the host Axemen and Axewomen. 

Tiger Allison McCloy captured two wins in the opening session including the 200m butterfly and 200m breaststroke. Teammate Reagan Crowell also recorded two first-place wins in the 100m freestyle and 400m freestyle. 

Other notable performances came from the host Axemen and Axewomen. Dean Sangster and Gordon Shortt both won two individual races. Sangster recorded wins in the 100m freestyle and 100m backstroke. Shortt finished first in the 50m breaststroke and 200m individual medley. 

Both Dalhousie and Acadia recorded eight individual race wins each. 

In the session-ending relays, both the Axemen and Axewomen won their respective 200m medley relay. 

Rounding out the Axewomen relay team were Natalie Stokes, Kali Lancaster, Sara Bennett, and Abby Brousseau who topped the Memorial Sea-Hawks. 

Dean Sangster, Gordon Shortt, Shane Kenny, and Bo Stokesbury-Price captured a big win in the men's 200m medley relay. 

Today's session one included 18 events. The swimmers are back in the pool tomorrow for the second session that begins at 10:00 am on AUStv.ca
