WOLFVILLE, N.S. – Today was the first official in-person meet since February of 2020 and all of the swimmers were very appreciative of returning to the pool. The meet began with a thunderous roar and many smiling faces by many of the new and veteran swimmers. 

In the team results, the Dalhousie Tigers captured first in both women's and men's Day 1 results with 316 points and 317 points respectively. Trailing in second in the men's team results was host Acadia, while the Memorial Sea-Hawks landed second overall in the women's team results after one session. 

Memorial's Kate Williams picked up two wins including a first-place finish in the 100m freestyle and 100m backstroke. On the men's side, Acadia's Gordon Shortt recorded wins in 200m butterfly and 200m breaststroke. 

Veteran Dalhousie swimmer Christian Payne landed a win in the 200m medley relay along with teammates Adam Bouma, Frederick Chandler-Baas, and Noah Mascoll-Gomes. 

Memorial's Ali Warren, Marcy Whelan, Heidi Perry, and Kate Williams captured the 200m medley relay. 

The Tigers grabbed a win in the women's 400m freestyle relay. Emilie Schofield, Martine Nyhof, Elaine Gentleman, and Reagan Crowell raced for the win. 

Memorial's men's team won the 400m freestyle relay. Ruben Rivero, Matty Whelan, Cormac Bull, and Sam Pennell were the winning combination. 

The medley relays opened the Scholz Meet.
