The Tigers beat the Laval Rouge et Or 3-1 on Saturday.
QUEBEC CITY – The Dalhousie Tigers rebounded from a tough loss to Laval just a day prior, earning a 3-1 victory (25-23, 25-23, 29-31, 25-21) over the Rouge et Or in an exciting RSEQ men's volleyball match at PEPS on Saturday afternoon.
Dalhousie (1-7) was led by Michael Donovan, who recorded a match-high 20 kills and 25.5 points, and Josh DeYoung, who contributed 19.5 points with 17 kills. The Tigers' attack was consistent throughout, finishing the match with a .264 hitting percentage. Their strong offensive play allowed them to take a commanding lead early, winning the first two sets by 25-23 scores.
Laval (4-3) fought back in the third set, led by the offensive firepower of Max Losier. The outside hitter delivered 26 kills, finishing with a total of 28 points in the match, while Terell Tchouassi added 20 kills and 21 points. Laval narrowly clinched the third set 31-29, with Losier contributing five kills in the final moments to extend the match.
However, Dalhousie maintained its composure in the fourth set. Behind DeYoung's powerful performance and clutch serving from Donovan, the Tigers sealed the victory with a 25-21 win, closing out the match.
Laval struggled with its efficiency at times, finishing with a .257 attack percentage, despite strong individual performances. Tchouassi was particularly notable in the loss, but Laval's offensive output faltered in the crucial moments, particularly in the fourth set.
Dalhousie's defense was also key to the win, with Michael Donovan adding seven blocks to his point total, and Jacob Oyler contributing 11.5 points.
