Steinley joins the men's volleyball roster for the 2024/25 season!
Tiger men’s volleyball head coach Dan Ota is pleased to announce the commitment of Maddux Steinley for the 2024-25 season.
Dalhousie Tiger men’s volleyball head coach Dan Ota is pleased to announce the commitment of Maddux Steinley for the 2024-25 season.
A setter, Steinley is a member of the two-time Alberta School Athletic Association Northeast 3A zone champions, Holy Rosary High School. The Lloydminster, Saskatchewan native also plays his club volleyball for Lloydminster Rustlers Volleyball Club.
Steinley will be joining teammate Luke Enstrom at Dalhousie who was announced last week.
“I chose Dalhousie and the Tigers because it is a school that I can work towards a law degree at and pursue one of my dreams of playing volleyball at the U SPORTS level,” says Steinley. “I am very excited for the opportunity to be able to play and develop at one of the highest levels of volleyball in Canada alongside by future coaches and teammates as a part of the Tigers.
A two-time member of the honour roll with distinction at Holy Rosary High School, Steinley will be working towards a Bachelor of Arts at Dalhousie.
“Maddux is relatively new to the sport, but it is impressive how far he’s come in a short time,” says Ota. “His body is still growing, so it may take him a couple of years to find his game at our level, but I already like his competitive nature on the court. It has been many years since we had an athlete in our program from Saskatchewan, so I’m very excited to welcome two athletes who have played in that province. Luke and Maddux are both high character people who have great potential in our sport.”
