Tigers add Rourke for the 2024/25 season!

Dalhousie Tigers men’s volleyball head coach Dan Ota is pleased to announce the commitment of Bannon Rourke for the 2024-25 season.

Hailing from Tantallon, Nova Scotia, Rourke plays for the Tigers Volleyball Club. Rourke and his Tigers teammates were Volleyball Nova Scotia provincial champions in 2022. The 6’5 outside hitter was also named an all-star at the 2023 Canada Cup.

A Bay View High School student, Rourke and his Sharks teammates won their school’s first Division 1 Boys Volleyball School Sport Nova Scotia provincial championship this past December.

Rourke will be following in his father’s footsteps. Brian Rourke played for the Tigers men’s volleyball team from 1984 to 1989.

“I am excited to continue my career in the black and gold,” says Rourke.

Rourke will be studying kinesiology at Dalhousie.

“Bannon is an outside hitter with a good combination of size and skill,” says Ota. “We expect him to play an important role for years to come, and it is great to bring in a second-generation Tiger carry on our proud traditions.”

The Tigers had a 2-14 record in the 2023-24 RSEQ season for a fifth place finish.
