The Sherbrooke Vert et Or men's volleyball team defeated the Dalhousie Tigers Friday, February 10 in three sets (25-14, 25-16, 25-20).

The teams went back and forth during the first set with Sherbrooke outdoing Dalhousie in the last half of the set. The Tigers started off the set aggressively with a strong serve from Josh DeYoung (Halifax, NS) which forced Sherbrooke to take the defense, allowing Justin Cross (Winnipeg, MB) to set up DeYoung for a phenomenal kill and bringing Dalhousie to 4-1 lead. Sherbrooke answered when Zachary Hollands (Victoriaville, QC) dropped a ball which barely made it over the net. Hollands scored 4 kills in the set which lead Sherbrooke to come out on top, 25-14.

During the second set, both teams turned up their energy starting the set with 6 consecutive kills to bring the game to 4-2. For Dalhousie, it was Cross who led their net game totaling 3 kills for the set but for Sherbrooke, Yoan David as he hammered the ball to the ground for the final kill of the set, proving to be a force at the net with a total of 7 kills that set.

Sherbrooke took the third set, 25-20 but the Tigers came out much stronger in the third. Michael Donovan (London, ON) found the floor from the left corner of the net past Sherbrooke's Yoan David. Gaining momentum, Donovan contributed 4 kills for the set and brought out 2 aces. But it was Sherbrooke's strong offense which allowed them to take the third set and claim victory.

Going into this match with a 2-0 record against the Tigers, Sherbrooke Vert et Or claimed their third victory of the season against Dalhousie.

Both teams will stay in Sherbrooke to face off once again tomorrow for the final match of the season at 2:30 pm.
