(HALIFAX, NS) - The Montreal Carabins ended their Atlantic road trip with a three set victory over the Dalhousie Tigers at Dalplex.

While being a lopsided score, the match was tight throughout with each set coming within only five points. The Carabins were led by their libero and player of the game, Yassine Kassis (Sfax, Tunisia) while Guillaume Bisson (Rouyn-Noranda, QC) earned 21 kills.

The first set was highlighted by a lengthy rally between the two teams when the score was 13-11. The Carabins won the rally and carried the momentum through to the end of the first set, winning 25-22. Tigers Josh DeYoung (Halifax, NS) had four of his nine kills in the first set and Michael Donovan (London, ON) added five kills.

The Carabins took the second set despite going down 9-3 in the early. Montreal managed a comeback, and never looked back, taking the set 25-20 with a big block coming from Montreal's Maxime St-Denis (Ottawa, ON).

In the third set, Montreal's Bisson put an exclamation point on the Carabin's early 9-2 lead with a monstrous kill, but the Tigers did not go away, bringing the game within three points midway through the set. Donovan was finding a lot of success, adding 9 kills to his stat line to end the game with a total of 18. Pierre-Charles Latour-Bourgeois (St-Jean-sur-Richelieu, QC) ended the Tigers hope for a comeback with a kill to take the win for the Carabins.

The Tigers now look to get back on the right track when the UNB Reds come to Halifax on February 3. Montreal looks to continue its winning ways when they return home to face Sherbrooke on February 5.
